Social Committee
GFCA looks forward to planning and enjoying our annual social events, which include:
Winter on the Farmland - a winter indoor gathering at Farmland Elementary School with a cookie exchange, crafts, games, and hired entertainment.
Community Day - our summer party with full buffet, desserts brought by neighbors, tented seating, DJ, games for kids, and, activities like bounce houses and pony rides. Free to GFCA member households, available for a fee to non-members.
July 4th Parade - deck out bicycles and anything else you can think of and parade with the kids through the neighborhood. Costumes and decorations are judged and prizes awarded. We have had the fire department send a ladder truck and have served water and ice cream in the past.
Halloween Party - held a day or two before Halloween, it's a costume get-together for the kids and kids-at-heart.
These events are always under review, with suggestions welcomed. Volunteers are always needed, and additional committee members would be most welcome! Join the planning fun by contacting Michele Stein by email.
There are additional gatherings, including general meetings, zoom meetings, and individual block parties, which are not arranged by the social committee.
