Tilden Woods
Tilden Woods was built by Community Builders between 1962-1966. It is located along Tildenwood Drive and eastward to Tilden Lane.
Originally advertised as a Bethesda community with a country theme, the houses feature exposed brick accent walls, beamed ceilings, front porches on ramblers, and, at the time, “modern” amenities such as larger closets and separate owners’ baths, which were not common in the main areas of Bethesda at that time. Housing types are primarily ramblers, split levels, bi-levels, and some colonial models. Carports were included in homes with lots wide enough to accept them.
