Montgomery County Dept. of Transportation sponsored a community zoom meeting on October 28, 2021. The proposal, shown above, was presented to over 120 participants from the Greater Farmland and North Farm neighborhoods. There were no participants who approved the project or its design, and the criticism was wide-ranging and consistent. Here is the written and submitted testimony from GFCA.

As a result, MCDOT sent the following email to the zoom participants:
"Good afternoon, North Farm Civic Association and Greater Farmland Civic Association Residents,

Thank you for your interest and participation in the Oct 28, 2021 public meeting for MCDOT’s Montrose Rd at Tower Oaks Boulevard Intersection and Spot Improvements Project.  Please be informed that, based on preliminary community comments received to date, MCDOT has decided not to advance the project further as proposed.  That said, MCDOT will thoroughly review all community comments and will investigate all viable traffic safety improvement solutions for this location.

I hope this finds you each well and staying dry on this wet day.  Have a wonderful Halloween weekend and, if you have any questions, please submit them via email to TrafficOps@montgomerycountymd.gov .

Kindest Regards,

Congratulations, neighbors! We have killed this project design. However, please note that, in the email, MCDOT will continue to look at this intersection to come up with alternative solutions. They are taking into consideration the suggestions that were made at the zoom meeting and within submitted comments.
The Comment Period will be open until November 18, 2021, and you can submit your comments:
