Walnut Woods

The quality builder, Gruver-Cooley, developed and built much of Walnut Woods. These homes are mostly colonials and typically have 1-car garages, although more of the newer houses have 2-car garages. Gruver-Cooley homes are prized for their solid construction, including plaster walls. The land records for all houses in Walnut Woods and Hickory Woods note the legal subdivision name as Montrose Woods. Although the official plat maps were recorded in the land records as Montrose Woods, the builder named the communities differently, hence the dichotomy between the legal and advertised subdivision names.
